A Message from President Jerry T. Myers

Despite a challenging time with the COVID-19 pandemic, we have never been more poised to serve our communities. As a workforce and economic development organization, our team is focused on meeting these challenges by focusing on the jobseekers, including Dislocated Workers, Adults, and Youth. IN THE DOOR is finding real-time solutions to those with significant barriers that they face. We also are staying connected and obtaining data from the business community to create pathways for new training to dissolve skills gaps amid high unemployment rates while creating pockets of economic growth.

Our business team is also creating partnerships that are helping us bridge the gap in our workforce services. As a result, we continue to lead with best practices, including:

  • Virtual Service Delivery and One-Stop Locations using safety measures and innovation to stop the spread of COVID-19

  • Working with local economic development agencies strategically to improve heavily impacted communities

  • The expansion of Virtual Presence amongst business, job seekers, and partners

  • Staying close to new federal guidelines to keep our team and others safe

Today, our teams explore ways to serve the significantly increased demand by leveraging technology and streamlining processes. We are poised in several locations to reopen knowing that planning and implementation are ultimately local.

Using the best practices identified over the last several months with our partners to establish specific location focused guidelines including preparing our buildings, preparing employees and partners, establishing new service plans, reducing face-to-face encounters, and taking the virus head on using wisdom. We are proud of our team and what they do and thank them all for their daily commitment.
